  • We include well known public and private gardens, plus others we have selected which are sure to surprise and delight.

    Our tour commences in The Emerald Isle- Ireland to explore the highlights of the Northern gardens, we then travel to Scotland where we tour from Glasgow through to Oban, plus a trip to the Isles of Iona and Mull.

    To cap off these amazing places we spend 4 nights in beautiful England's Lake District- the home of the famous children's story author Beatrix Potter and poet.  

  • Day 1: Belfast
    On arrival we have a short tour of the city sights then transfer to our hotel for the next 4 nights. Tonight enjoy our welcome dinner (included).D

     Day 2: Belfast – Mt Stewart
    This morning coach to Rowallane - an amazing garden of exotic plants, meadows and a fabulous walled garden, typical of Ireland. Continue to restaurant, overlooking Sketrick Castle and lough. Afternoon visit to Mt Stewart – Irelands most famous garden, planted by Edith Londonderry in the 1920s with garden rooms and parterres and a little whimsy. L,B

    Day 3: County Antrim
    This morning we visit two different styled gardens, including the Earls of Antrim Glenarm Castle, established 1242 and occupied by the same family since the 1600’s.B

    Day 4: Dillon and Airfield gardens
    Dillon’s is an oasis in the city, with a series of small gardens, each with a different theme, plus waterfalls and rare herbaceous plants. Then visit Airfield Gardens - a walled garden restored in 1996 with a formal design, including an old rose garden, herb garden and extensive colourful borders.B

     Day 5: Belfast – Glasgow
    Transfer for your flight to Glasgow. On arrival we have a tour of the highlights of Glasgow and a cruise on the Clyde River before transferring to our hotel and base for 2 nights.B 

    Day 6: Glasgow
    Free time to explore Glasgow shops, galleries and museums. Traditional Scottish dinner and entertainment (included).B,D 

    Day 7: Glasgow – Oban
    Depart Glasgow to visit a Charles Rennie MacIntosh designed home and garden, visit the MacIntosh shop, the home of the Campbells – the magnificent ancestral home of the Dukes of Argyll, then Loch Fyne, Highland Glens, Loch Awe, Bander Pass and Ben Cruachan, to our hotel in Obanfor 3 nights. B 

    Day 8: Oban
    Today visit Ardmaddy - a formal walled garden and outstanding views to the Hebrides. The garden includes a fine collection of hybrid rhododendrons, azaleas, climbing plants, shrubs and herbaceous perennials, vegetables and cane fruits, plus innovative labour-saving methods. Then to the 13c Ardchattan Priory Garden and ruins. A variety of plants thrive here including a huge Cornus kousa, Eucryphia glutinosa, Hoheria lyalii, scented roses and philadelphus, plus a wild-flower meadow, herbaceous borders, rockery and views to Loch Etive, Mull and Ben Cruachan. B 

    Day 9: Isles of Mull and Iona
    Today we have a day trip to the Isles of Mull and Iona. We visit the Italian garden of Torosay and the Cloister garden at Iona and see the ancient villages and 600c Celtic Crosses. B 

    Day 10: The Trossachs and Loch Lomond
    Depart picturesque Oban for the wild glens and moors and rolling hills of the Scottish Borders, visiting an amazing modern garden on an ancient site. Then continue to Ambleside in the English Lake District, our base for 4 nights.

     Day 11: Ambleside
    Today we visit the Beatrix Potter museum and Hilltop Farm where Beatrix wrote the Peter Rabbit (and other favourite character) childrens stories. Free afternoon to explore this the quaint lakeside village. B 

    Day 12:Lakes, gardens and poets
    Morning drive through the scenic lakelands - see some of the most stunning scenery in England, visit the beautiful lakeside British National Astilbes and Hydrangeas garden. We then continue to the home of famous poet William Wordsworth. B 

    Day 13:Country estate
    This morning we visit Holker Hall, home of Lord Cavendish to view the gardens. After lunch explore another village. B 

    Day 14:Ambleside - London
    The tour concludes this morning with the departure of the transfer for London, or optional extra nights in Ambleside. B
